Labib Faisal is a Bangladeshi filmmaker and the founder of FOLOK. He studied journalism at Selçuk University in Konya, Türkiye (Bachelor of Social Science, 2016–2020), where he learned new media, newspaper and magazine production, film direction and filmmaking.
While still a student he worked as a reporter and video editor for KonTV, one of Konya's popular local TV channels, as a reporter and layout designer for the Selçuk İletişim student newspaper, and founded his own magazine, Çizgili Defter, as editor-in-chief. He was head editor at Emre Tanıtım, a Konya agency making ads for local TV, and video editor at Erka Medya, an agency working on commercials, TV advertising and documentaries. In Istanbul he edited for Klok Film, an advertising agency that made government projects and big-budget corporate commercials for clients such as Koç Holding.
Alongside his studies he presented academic papers at symposiums of RTÜK, Türkiye's Radio and Television Supreme Council, including a paper on the history of Turkish film, and was selected to present his work at Tashkent University in Uzbekistan. He also worked as a research assistant at Türkiye's Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) on the Global ICT Alliance project.
Back in Bangladesh he built FOLOK into a studio trusted by TİKA, TRT, Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı, the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka, UN Women, JAAGO Foundation and others. As CEO he leads the creative direction of every project and still works on set as director and director of photography, and in the edit suite. He speaks Bangla, English and Turkish fluently.
